Eaton recall: be aware — this recall covers 30A and 60A safety switches that are commonly used for heavy commercial, utility and industrial applications. These were manufactured between November 19, 2018 to January 23, 2018, which were sold in US and Canada.
Here are the affected catalog numbers included in the safety bulletin about the Eaton recall:
According to the bulletin Eaton released, these safety switches can supply power even when the handle is in the “off” position. The error could potentially result in serious injuries or death.
Eaton has clarified that as of July 2, 2018, there were no reports that these safety switches have caused injuries.
The company’s distributors in the US and Canada were notified through an email and advised how to identify whether the safety switch won’t work well.
